Education and training

There is no charge for discussion (via zoom, phone or email) to discuss and refine your requirements. During or immediately subsequent to our final discussion, we will provide you with a cost for the course.

We will send you a full outline with learning objectives, once your course has been created for you.

On acceptance of this, and the agreed fee*, full payment will be due once the course is complete and within 28 days of the issue of an invoice.

*The fee will cover the delivery of the course and preparation time (usually no more than 2 hours).

A pdf of materials, and response by email to any post-course queries or questions, will be provided without charge.

Psychotherapy

I am happy to offer a short consultation (up to 15 minutes) by phone to set out what I can offer you, and to ensure that I can meet your needs. In the case of children and young people, these are with a parent. There is no charge for this.

In the first or second session, I will try to give you an idea of the number of sessions that I feel will help you fully. An extension will be offered if further issues emerge during the course of the work.

You are under no obligation to commit to a particular number of sessions, though I strongly recommend an ‘ending’ session at the end of the relationship.

Equine and/or residential work is offered, where appropriate, once our work has begun.

All information and disclosures are treated in strict confidence, and not disclosed to a 3rd party without your permission. Like all therapists, I am obliged to work with a supervisor.

Sessions are either in Gloucestershire (20 minutes north of Bristol), where I have a consulting room in my home, or via zoom. Most work can be successfully accomplished on zoom: I will indicate where, if at all, one or more sessions face to face would be advisable.

Payment is requested within 7 days of receipt of an invoice, and always retrospectively.

I am happy to invoice every 2 or 4 sessions, should clients prefer.

Should you need to cancel, I ask for 24 hours’ notice, to avoid having to charge you.

Children (up to the age of 14)

It is up to you whether I work with your child with a parent present. Generally, children are more open when they attend alone.

After each session, I will inform a parent broadly of what we have discussed, and any ‘homework’ activities I have suggested. Children are made aware of this.

Sessions with under 16s are usually 40-45 minutes in length, and involve a range of activities to help maintain focus.

Young people (15-18)

I provide some feedback for parents, according to what the young person is happy for me to pass on.

Any ongoing discussions with parents are charged at the same rate as therapy sessions.
